Acknowledgement of Country
We acknowledge the Ngunnawal people and Ngambri
people as the Traditional Custodians of the Canberra
region and land upon which we make our work and
recognise their continuing connection to the country.
We recognise their continuing connection to land, waters
and community and we extend this respect to First Peoples
across the land. We pay our ongoing respects to them,
their cultures and their elders, past and present.
We acknowledge the ongoing significance of dance as cultural
practice, as interconnected with story, song and country.
We deeply respect the significance of the Canberra region
as a meeting place over millennia for other Aboriginal
groups and the historical dispossession and its continuing
legacy for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
We are privileged to be here and
we walk and dance gently on the land.

About us
The Stellar Company is a multi-arts program for people of all abilities and backgrounds led by women and created in consultation with First Nations artists.
We activate professionally produced, quality arts practice through a lens of cultural equity, embedded accessibility, social inclusion and sustainability developed by and for people of all abilities, ages and backgrounds. We work across the ACT and into the wider Australian and Asian diaspora.
Our dynamic programs champion diversity, foster cross-cultural collaborations and create innovative pathways for emerging artists through dance, film and immersive technologies.
The first of its kind in the ACT, The Stellar Company becomes the link between community arts and professional practice. Under the direction of award winning artist Liz Lea we work in a fully inclusive, intercultural and intergenerational capacity to benefit all aspects of arts across the community. Our programs epitomise the vision of a forward looking Canberra, grounded in quality, integrity and increasing wellbeing.
